The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has criticised claims that President Bola Tinubu’s speech at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council was recorded before the event.
Keyamo reacted to the allegation in a post on X on Thursday, arguing that local and international media organisations covered the ceremony live.
The minister questioned the basis of the claims and described them as unfounded. He also referred to earlier conspiracy theories about former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The controversy followed comments by activist Chidi Odinkalu, who questioned whether Tinubu attended the inauguration in person and alleged that the video showed signs of a pre-recorded address.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga also criticised Odinkalu’s comments, accusing him of allowing political bias to influence his judgment.
Tinubu inaugurated the APC Presidential Campaign Council on Wednesday at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja as the ruling party intensified preparations for the 2027 general election.
The President urged members of the council to mobilise support across wards and polling units, stressing that the party’s success would depend on its ability to secure votes.
The APC has scheduled its campaign flag-off rally for October 24 in Kaduna State.
The disagreement has added to the political exchanges surrounding the preparations for the 2027 elections.
