The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has endorsed the Nigeria–Morocco African Atlantic Gas Pipeline project after member states signed an intergovernmental agreement aimed at advancing the initiative.
The ambitious pipeline project is expected to strengthen regional energy cooperation by connecting several West African countries, improving access to natural gas, supporting industrial development, and boosting intra-African trade. Once completed, the pipeline will also provide an alternative route for gas exports to international markets while enhancing energy security across the region.
