BREAKING: Naira Posts Mixed Performance Against U.S. Dollar in Tuesday Trading

The Nigerian naira recorded a mixed performance against the U.S. dollar on Tuesday, maintaining relative stability in the official foreign exchange market while weakening slightly in the parallel market.

At the official market, the local currency traded within a largely stable range, reflecting continued efforts by monetary authorities to support exchange rate stability. However, activity in the parallel market saw the naira lose modest ground against the dollar as demand for foreign exchange remained elevated.

Market analysts attributed the divergence between the two markets to varying levels of dollar liquidity and persistent demand from businesses and individuals seeking foreign currency.

Despite the slight depreciation in the parallel market, experts say the official exchange rate has remained broadly stable in recent sessions, supported by ongoing reforms and policy measures aimed at improving liquidity and restoring confidence in Nigeria’s foreign exchange market.

Financial analysts will continue to monitor developments in the coming days as investors and businesses assess the impact of exchange rate movements on trade, inflation, and the broader economy.
