HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY

Honesty Is the Best Policy

One day, a young boy named Tunde was walking home from school when he found a wallet lying on the roadside. He picked it up and opened it. Inside were some money and an identification card belonging to an elderly man.

Tunde was tempted to keep the money because his family was struggling financially. However, he remembered what his parents always taught him: “Honesty is the best policy.”

Using the information on the ID card, Tunde searched for the owner and eventually found the elderly man. The man had been worried because the wallet contained money he needed for important expenses.

Tunde returned the wallet without taking anything from it. The elderly man was overjoyed and thanked him sincerely. He rewarded Tunde with a small gift and praised his honesty.

From that day on, Tunde became known in his community as a trustworthy and responsible boy. His good character earned him the respect of many people.

Moral Lesson: Honesty brings respect, trust, and rewards, while dishonesty often leads to regret.
