Seplat Energy Ends Routine Gas Flaring, Expands LPG Investments

Seplat Energy has announced the successful end of routine gas flaring across its onshore operations, marking a significant milestone in the company’s environmental sustainability and energy transition efforts.

The company said the achievement reflects its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving operational efficiency, and supporting Nigeria’s drive toward cleaner and more sustainable energy production.

As part of its long-term strategy, Seplat Energy is also expanding investments in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to increase the availability of cleaner cooking fuel for households and industries while reducing reliance on more polluting energy sources.

According to the company, the move aligns with global environmental standards and Nigeria’s objective of eliminating routine gas flaring, improving energy security, and promoting sustainable economic development.

Industry analysts say the development is expected to enhance environmental protection, create new economic opportunities, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the transition toward a lower-carbon energy future.

Seplat Energy reaffirmed its commitment to responsible energy production and sustainable investments that deliver long-term value for shareholders, host communities, and the Nigerian economy.
