Atiku Gives Tinubu Seven-Day Ultimatum to Order Independent Probe into Alleged PFIPC Scandal

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has given President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a seven-day ultimatum to order a transparent, comprehensive, and independent investigation into the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal.

In a statement issued on Friday, Atiku expressed concern over allegations surrounding the purported agency, arguing that the matter raises serious questions about transparency, accountability, and the integrity of public institutions.

He called on President Tinubu to immediately constitute an independent panel to investigate the controversy, warning that failure to act within the seven-day deadline could deepen public suspicion regarding the government’s commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring accountability.

According to Atiku, a credible investigation is necessary to establish the facts, identify those responsible if any wrongdoing is confirmed, and restore public confidence in government institutions.

The former Vice President stressed that Nigerians deserve full disclosure on the circumstances surrounding the alleged PFIPC operations and any public funds reportedly linked to the agency.

As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not issued an official response to Atiku’s ultimatum or the allegations surrounding the PFIPC controversy.
